Meet Roxey

I was born and raised in a resort community in Northern Michigan. I have painted all of my life. Often I would join Mom’s painting classes when I got home from elementary school, winning a few awards at local fairs with paintings from those classes. My family owned and operated “Young’s Four Seasons Resort” in Harrison Michigan where I taught art classes for children and cleaned fish for our customers! In High school I worked as a volunteer ambulance attendant in our community and sold a few oil paintings of animals.

I decided to go into the medical field as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and sold dozens of animal portraits while going through college. Art and Science have always been my passion.

Throughout my life I have sold hundreds of oil paintings – animals, landscapes, portraits, and still life’s. I am now teaching acrylic painting at resorts, mobile home parks, and local establishments while still painting in oils for commissions.

Painting with color is what I was born to do. It is my passion, my gift to share with anyone who will enjoy it. I love to have limitless creativity using a variety of tools and techniques. I encourage new ideas and techniques. I would like my classes to be a spiritually creative experience with a byproduct of a uniquely you painting!
